Nothing kicks off house hunting better than Spring! Open houses are a great way to see what homes in your area or the area you want to live in look like and how much they are. This is great information as you prepare to buy and list your home. No appointments are necessary and you can ask questions about the area, schools, construction, and pricing trends from the agent host that are a wealth of information. Seeing homes in person are dramatically different than what you see online so don't be surprised that homes are different than what you thought. A great way to meet prospective listing agents (and casually interview them) is through open houses. After all, energetic and successful agents hold open houses for their seller clients to allow for another audience to visit that has not yet engaged a buyer's agent. Many buyers also find their chosen buyer's agent at open houses when they discover a knowledgeable and passionate agent that would be a great resource for them as they house hunt. So, while you may dedicate some time to your garden this Spring, don't forget to spend time at open houses, too.
